Child and Youth Adjustment
If your child or teen has behavioral or emotional difficulties that most children his age don't seem to exhibit, and these problems last for at least a month, he or she may benefit from psychotherapy.
Children and youths of ages 3 to 17 can engage in, and grow healthier through, this process. Difficulties most often treated include shyness and varying fears, depression and oppositional behaviors.
Parental involvement is required especially with children and youths 3 to 12 years of age. Consultation and family therapy are often provided.
Do you and your spouse find yourselves distant or dissatisfied with your relationship? Do you have frequent arguments? What happened to the joy you had when you first committed to each other?
In this most personal relationship of marriage, we often have difficulty listening to one another, communicating effectively and finding intimacy. Marital counseling can help you find a better understanding of yourself and your spouse, and develop a more rewarding relationship.
Are you frequently feeling sad and fatigued? Do you find it difficult to shake the blues and feel like yourself? Counseling can help you sort out the issues that are weighing you down and develop ways to cope more effectively. Facing those difficulties with a trained, confidential therapist can renew your perspective, increase your energy and help you become more of the person you have wanted to be.
Do you resort to overeating when you are worried, lonely or sad? A lot of us abuse food to avoid what's really eating us. Participating in counseling can strengthen your ability to: face and think through your difficulties, take charge of your habits, and develop more rewarding and healthy behaviors.
Have you continued to smoke despite the fact that it's hurting your health, finances and social life? Counseling can help you identify the underlying reasons and develop the control you want. Enjoy healthier activities, habits and focus!
If you experience repetitive worries, general uneasiness and / or recurring fears, you may benefit from psychotherapy. Whether it's triggered by situational stress, family problems or past trauma, you can look forward to relief through engaging in this process.
As you develop a trusting relationship with your therapist, you can learn relaxation techniques, develop insights and build your inner self to a fuller potential.
If you request faith based counseling, this can be integrated into your session.
